ENVY is proud to sponsor and support The Grierson Awards. The Awards commemorate the pioneering Scottish documentary maker John Grierson (1898 1972), the man widely regarded as the father of the documentary.
Established in 1972, the Grierson Awards recognise and celebrate documentaries that have made a significant contribution to the genre from Britain and abroad.
The British Documentary Awards Ceremony took place on the 3rd of November 2009 and ENVY would like to congratulate all the entries and of course all the winners of Grierson Awards. Especially Darlow Smithson Productions for Best Historical Documentary for Thriller in Manila and Best Newcomer for Elizabeth Stopford and Passion Pictures Storyville: I’m not dead yet, both posted at ENVY. There was also a ‘special mention’ for The Fallen by Minnow Films in the International Best Documentary on a Contemporary Issue category. ENVY also posted this BAFTA winning documentary by Morgan Matthews.
ENVY has produced the graphics and post production for the awards and sponsored the best documentary series category.
